Since January 2024, the NGO “Wishing to Help” has been implementing the project “Veteran’s barrier-free access to justice” in a health resort in the city of Myrhorod, Poltava region.
The main priorities of this project are:
- social support of veterans and their family members;
- reintegration of veterans and their family members into active social life.
Within the framework of the project, veterans can receive free legal assistance, which is provided in the format of online consultations (Zoom) or by phone, assistance in the preparation of various types of documents, as well as preparation of procedural documents and representation of interests in courts.
In addition, veterans, regardless of their functional impairments or communication capabilities, can access information using purchased laptops (with a suitable headset), use of the organization’s website with useful information, access to information within the framework of legal proceedings, as well as information products used in during the court process in (online format), can increase the share of access to information in the process of obtaining public services provided by the state.
Also, as part of the project, digital literacy training for veterans is being conducted, which will collectively provide an opportunity not only to solve their legal issues, but also to gain new knowledge and skills that will be useful to veterans in the process of reintegration into society.
